People here tend to shorten everything with a y. Sometimes I get thrown off, but less often now.
Brekky = Breakfast
Sunny = Sun glasses
Brolly = Umbrella
Telly = TV
Volly = Volunteer
Uni = University
Trany = Transmitter
Welly = Wellington
Sammy = Sandwich
Toasty = Grilled Sandwich
Mozzy = Mosquito
etc.
